Main Beach

The main beach at Figueira da Foz is the widest in Europe, and the ideal place to find your own private spot for sunbathing and relaxing. In the summer months the beach is covered in candy-striped beach huts, which can be rented by the day. Make one of these your base and you can retreat into the shade when you need a break from the sunshine. There are various bars and cafes situated on the beach so you don't have to walk all of the way up to the main strip when you want refreshments. The beach has lifeguards, to ensure your safety make sure you only go for a dip in front of the lifeguard posts, which can be found all of the way along Figueira da Foz's beach up to Buarcos.
